Be well-heeled in Italy!

Wednesday 27 February 2008 @ 5:38 pm

One of the up and coming areas in Italy is the southern tip of the country in the region of Calabria. There has been surge of interest in Italian Properties as the media’s attention has turned its focus to Italy.

Calabria in general has been less developed than other regions but in the last few years, development has started on the West coast and is slowly moving around the coast to the east. Properties tend to be more expensive on west coast. Budget airlines are beginning to fly in opening up the market to more foreigners. As you might expect the climate is excellent all the year around.

The beaches are sandy and the landscape quite spectacular. There are many small villages to enjoy rural Italy, and national parks to enjoy.

Property in Calabria is cheap but expect prices to rise as the region becomes more popular. Off-plan apartments start at about 70,000 euros. These prices are very competitive with other Overseas Properties in Europe.

Properties in Spain In Holding Pattern

Wednesday 27 February 2008 @ 12:52 pm

It feels like a plane waiting to land, slowly running out of fuel as it hangs in the air waiting for the tower to give the go-ahead for the landing. For the time being..just waiting.

So it seems with properties in Spain. Reports from across the country seem to indicate that the Spanish Property market is in a holding pattern. The only problem is that no body on board can raise the tower and getting the all clear to land seems a long ways off.

Agents on the Costa Blanca have also reported a mixed start  to the rental season. The rental market  for properties that has been the lifeblood of many agents who cover both aspects of the spectrum seems to have been hit with a touch of the economy blues, possibly with holiday makers agents waiting to see what happens over the few weeks with regards their mortgage payments before booking the annual summer vacation

For any one who wants to know….its warm in Spain at the moment. The sky is blue and the flowers are blooming. If you were thinking of a get away now is as good a time as any to take a last minute break and take up that holiday villa rental

See Ya soon!

Essays Around Your Dissertation

Tuesday 26 February 2008 @ 10:18 pm

Writing essays can be fun. It can be frustrating, exhilarating, or mind numbingly boring. In fact, if you can think of an emotion then you can probably apply it to writing. but why? Why does putting pen to paper, or more likely these days, putting fingers to keyboard cause such an array of human emotions.

It first depends on the person doing the writing and secondly on the topic and reason for the prose.

A dissertation is an important educational event in some-ones life and so the stress of having to produce a unique piece of coursework writing on a subject that is fresh can sometimes be too much for the well intentioned student.

Writers block or sometimes just mere frustration can be nearly as stressful as the most stressful experiences….buying a house. These days I would imagine that the stress of buying a property has been overtaken by selling or trying to sell a property! Sign o the times.

Whatever the reason for your writing attempts, a simple rule to remember is just to sit in front of your keyboard and let your mind go blank. Then just start writing. it doesn’t matter what about….just write, let it out, let it flow.

Tell yourself whats on your mind, what made you smile today… what made you angry.

Its like the 10 second rule. Count to 10 when someone makes you mad before you react and you will be better able to deal with the stress of the moment. Write for 5 minutes and then turn to your coursework assignment. You will find the words easier to come by and your essay will flow much better..

Thats my 5 minutes…see ya!

Spanish Property - Javea, Moraira, - Going Rental!

Friday 22 February 2008 @ 1:22 pm

We like to keep you up-to-date with things in the Spanish Property market on Experseo.com. 2007 was not a good year for a lot of agents and many have fallen by the wayside in the flat property sales market.

As we start 2008 there are signs for optimism as AMLA, The MLS dealing with Spanish property for sale has announced record visitors for the first two weeks of the year.

Costa Blanca Property and especially Moraira property and Javea property have shown double-digit increases in visitors.

The proff of the pudding though is whether these visitors or ‘browsers will turn into buyers. It was confidence in the global mortgage market that made purchasers wary in the second half of 2007. Many came to look but left without purchasing. With interest rates in both the USA and possibly UK on the decline there may now be confidence returning to investors looking to cash in on purchases at the perveived ‘bottom’ of the market cycle.

As the year has progressed property sales have not recovered as had been hoped in January. Many agents are now looking to holiday rentals Spain to ease to continued slowdown in the sales market.

Villa Rentals in Costa Blanca

Tuesday 19 February 2008 @ 5:44 pm

I was talking to an Agent yesterday who told me that the rental market was as flat as the Property sales market! It came as somewhat of a surprise as I had been told earlier in the month that agents who dealt in both villa rentals and sales seemed to be surviving on the income they got from rentals whilst the market in sales stewed.

It hasn’t helped that interest rates and the knock on effect they have had on exchange rates has gone against the GBP meaning that the reduction in property prices that has taken place over the past few months has all but been wiped out by the strength of the Euro against the pound

Rentals in places like Javea and Moraira seem to be getting a mixed bag of indicators. Talking to Agents in Moraira and some would have you believe that Moraira Villa Rentals for 2008 were fully booked. Maybe its the fact that Apartments rentals in Javea are suffering from an oversupply from the hundreds of new properties that have come onto the market in recent year or two.

Whichever of the dichotomous tales is true, holiday rentals in Spain are the only thing keeping the wolf from the door for a lot of Agents at the moment.
