News - Moraira, Alicante Spain
During July more than 220 youngsters took part in the Moraira / Teulada summer school.
The age range was from 3 to 12 years and it was school with a difference .
At the Cap d’Or school in Moraira or the Sant Vicent Ferrer in Teulada the children enjoyed workshops , excursions , theatre presentations and sport .
The summer school continues during August when there will be visits to the municipal swimming pool.

Los Leones restaurant at Solpark , Moraira is the meeting place for all of those who are interested in supporting the British Legion .
During the summer , those who are not on holiday meet at 11.00 on a Monday morning .
Recently the Legion has been fund raising very successfully with Fashion Sales at the Los Leones and in October they will be repeating the idea for all of our winter wardrobes .

A training exercise for lifeguards to rescue a swimmer in distress in the sea off Moraira took place last Friday .
It took place at L’Ampolla beach and was organised by the council to test the rescue and emergency services .
A swimmer jumped off the rocks and simulated serious back injuries whilst a lifeguard went to the rescue assisted by two colleagues , bringing him ashore on a special stretcher .
Emergency procedures were put into action with calls to the police , ambulance and civil protection services .
The entire rescue exercise was completed in 11 minutes .
News - Altea, Alicante Spain
A British artist has won the first prize at this years craft fair in Altea .
His winning exhibit was made of wood and involved a technique using a microwave oven . It was voted the best creation of this 25th anniversary of the fair .
The second prize was a puppet created by a Spanish gentleman and the third prize was made in the medium of glass.
The winners won prize money of 1000, 900 and 800 euros respectively awarded by Altea’s cultural councillor .
News - Benidorm Costa Blanca
The restaurant on Benidorm island was broken into last week .
When the owners arrived to open up they found the windows smashed , doors broken and the premises had been looted .
Personal diving equipment , freezer contents , crates of drinks and cutlery had all been stolen .
The following day robbers broke into a bingo hall in Benidorm by drilling through a wall and making off with 30,000euros in cash from the safe .
