When a vagrant started to hassle customers in a Malaga restaurant a young waiter tried to stop him .

The vagrant then began to throw plates around and generally cause a problem for the customers . The waiter came in close and then the man found a knife and stabbed the waiter .

Catering staff in Malaga have been complaining for a while about beggars  causing problems and the town hall , it appears , has done nothing to try and sort the problem out .

The Nerja Caves will be the venue for the 49th annual festival of music and danceand opens with a night of flamenco.

The following  concerts will be given by the Royal Ballet of Denmark  , both soloists and group performances .

The final concert will be by the soprano Ainhoa Aretta.

Preparations are already well underway for the 50th anniversary concert next year .

News Spain In Brief - Ronda, Andalucia

The mayor of Ronda has caused a bit of a storm in the town when he moved one of the police officers to another town after he had had a row with one of the councillors .

The officer it seems was rude to the councillor at the San Cristobal procession  .

The other officers have come out in protest at the action which has been taken and will march outside the town hall . They have the backing of the PP party and Izquierda Unida.

Creamfields  is a well known festival in the UK and has been running for 10 years .

There is a parallel Creamfields in Spain and it has now been running for 5 years .

In 2008 it is going to be held in Almeria and is moving to a new and bigger location at Playa de Guardias de Viejas , El Ejido.

This place has a camp site alongside the better facilities .

Last year over 40,000 people went to Cuevas de Almanzora and the need for a bigger venue is based on these figures .

The Chemical Brothers will be there this year after their spectacular show in Murcia .

News Spain In Brief - Torrevieja Costa Blanca

This group of writers has decided to go on meeting during the summer months .

The Torrevieja Writers Circle has been in existance for 10 years and at the moment has a membership of up to 24 budding authors

The group meets at the Olympia restaurant in Mil Palmeras  between 11.00 and 13.00 to share ideas  and obtain inspiration from each other .

Each member reads what they have written during the week to the rest of the group , who comment and discuss it .

The genre of the writing is varied , from poetry , prose , fiction and non-fiction .The group has one thing in common , a love of words .
