World Site Day is on October 9 and the theme this year is ” Eyes On The Future “and it will focus on sight problems which occur later in life .
The Teulada -Moraira Lions Club is organising several activities to raise funds which will highlight the problems , especiallyin Third World countries .
The Lions will be in Moraira Market the week before and the week after the special day and all of the monies raised will be donated to the construction of health facilities and the training of specialists in the visual health field .

The building of the Mercadona supermarket on the Moraira - Benitachell road has become a nightmare for some British residents who own a property nearby .
They have had their walls broken down , extortionate water bills ,a broken TV dish , live cables all over the place and all through no fault of there own they have huge bills to pay .
The local council has been helpful and all that these people want is for things to return to the way they were . They are hoping that their insurance company will pay out on claims that they have made for the damage caused , but they don’t seem hopeful .

A total of 450 youngsters took part in the Javea summer school this year .Once the children returned to normal school the summer school came to an end .
Over a 100 families benefited from the Social Services subsidies for attending the school .
The main objective of the Summer School is to offer something different to the children , which is also educational , during the summer holidays .
Youngsters from as young as three , through to twelve , enjoyed this years Marco Polo themed activities in the town ’s Arenal and Graull schools .

A new guide of walks around Torrevieja has just been published and it comes with a mini DVD, which can be downloaded to an I-Pod or MP3 player , giving the walker a commentary as they walk along .
There are three new walks for tourists and residents alike . The first focuses on salt , taking the walker to the Museo del Mar , the old railway station , the Eres de Sal and the waterway channel between the sea and the salt lakes as well as the Paseo Maritimo .
The second one begins in the town centre and goes to the port , casino , customs house and fishing boats .
The third of the new walks takes one to La Mata’s natural park .
News - Pego Valencia Costa Azahar Spain
Two tonnes of copper was stolen by robbers from a municipal warehouse in Pego last week .They made their getaway in a car which was owned by the local council .They also stole other items from the warehouse , with a total value of over 5000 euros .
The car was dumped on the road to Denia , where more than likely there was another car waiting for them .
The Guardia Civil feel that this was part of an organised gang and the thieves are still at large .
