Location

This chalet style villa has an alpine look and feel. Built by its owner a local carpenter, he has made great use of wood and stone throughout this cosy home. The villa is colourfully decorated with pretty tiles, and Moroccan style lighting. The property sits in ¾ of an acre, and is surrounded by native olive trees and enjoys peaceful mountain views. It has air conditioning, and a wood burning stove for cooler spring and autumn evenings. Around the villa there are fruit trees and colourful plants, terraces for eating al fresco and relaxing in the shade, with the sound of birdsong around you.

Accommodation

The accommodation is on 2 floors. Due to the open plan nature of the 2 upstairs bedrooms this property is ideal for a family or a couple.
This alpine style villa has an open plan lounge / dining room and kitchen, and is entered through an elegant porch way. The lounge is comfortably furnished and has a large picture window with window seat and panoramic views. There is a wood burning stove, TV, and DVD, large wooden dining table, and beautifully carved cabinets.

Bedrooms

There are 3 bedrooms, one double on the ground floor, and on the first floor, one twin bedded room, and another bedroom with a ¾ antique brass bed. The upstairs bedrooms are interconnected by a door, mezzanine style, and overlook the ground floor.

The contemporary shower room is on the ground floor, immaculately tiled, and has a walk in shower, WC and washbasin.


Kitchen

The light and airy kitchen is decorated with blue and yellow tiles, it has a 4 ring gas hob, electric oven, microwave, fridge freezer, coffee maker and toaster. A stable door leads from the kitchen out onto a terrace which has a table, chairs, and parasol, enjoying exceptional views overlooking the pool to the mountains beyond..

 

Pool and Garden

Below the house is a 7m x 5m swimming pool, dining and sun terrace, with shaded area, parasol, and pool furniture. All the outside areas enjoy peace and tranquillity, and exceptional views over the surrounding countryside. The pool is cleaned twice weekly.

Close to the swimming pool there is a separate utility room, with WC, hand basin, and washing machine.


Towels and pool towels are provided, and there is a weekly linen change.

 

Local Information

Access to the villa is good, it is 3km from the nearest village and about 25 minutes from Ronda
The nearest village to this villa is El Gastor, known as the “balcon de los pueblos blancos”. It is a typical picturesque mountain village with whitewashed houses, pretty flower lined streets, and friendly people, a perfect place for enjoying a drink or tapas in one of the bars or restaurants. The surrounding area is ideal for walking, bird-watching, photography, cycling or simply taking a relaxing evening stroll and watching the sun go down over the nearby lake. There are several shops, a bakery, a charming village square, weekly market, banks, ATM, and medical centre.


El Gastor is ideally situated for visiting the historic town of Ronda with its famous Tajo or gorge, and the many nearby white villages. Ronda is one of the oldest towns in Spain with a wealth of culture and tradition, sitting on an outcrop of rock rising above an impressive river gorge, which divides the town into the old and new parts. It is ideal for site seeing, shopping, restaurants, and tapas bars.


A visit to the nearby Grazalema Natural Park is highly recommended for its spectacular scenery, wonderful walks, variety of wildlife and unspoilt beauty, the area having some of the most diverse ecology in Europe.
