Andalucia|Death of Child

Friday 30 July 2010 @ 7:29 pm

Reporting restrictions have been placed on the death of a 5 year old boy in Andalucia.

A German woman could face charges of negligent homicide after her son was discovered dead last week. The child died from heatstroke and dehydration. This caused multiple organ failure and death.

The woman was on holiday with her son and they were seen fishing fishing at a reservoir prior to the incident.

The mother reported her son missing and was herself in a disorientated and bruised state when she did this. She has been released with the charges still outstanding.

The body of the boy was found next to two rucksacks and an empty bottle of water. The rucksacks were adult and child sized.

Could this be a tragic accident or is it possible that it was negligence on the part of the mother.

Benitaxell|Bull Running Accident

Friday 30 July 2010 @ 2:08 pm

Benitaxell on the Costa Blanca was the scene of what could have developed into a serious accident last week.A young bull escaped from a pen where it was being kept for the bull running later in the day.

The policeĀ  believe that the bull pen was left open deliberately. The bull was free in the streets of Benitaxell for 3 hours in total. Two teenage girls were slightly injured when they tried to escape from the animal as it ran towards the Taraula urbanisation, where it was finally cornered and recaptured.

There is always huge security when dealing with the animals in the town. The gate to the pens is checked and rechecked by responsible people. However it is now known who might have left the gate unlocked and the Guardia Civil are investigating the case.

To get the young animal back into a truck they actually got its mother to come to the area where it was holed up.Does anyone ever really understand just how frightened these animals become in these circumstances. It is amazing that more people are not hurt or even killed because of this so called “entertainment”.
