As we travel along the path of life our mortality slowly creeps up on us. In Murcia city last week a police officer died in the line of duty.He was chasing thieves across a roof when the roof collapsed and the policeman fell through it .

The 38 year old was with his partner and they were chasing these robbers across corrugated roofing over a garage when the accident happened.Both officers fell 8 metres to the ground.Sadly this Policia Local officer fell on his head and died almost straight away.The other officer broke an ankle and had other minor injuries.

The brother of the dead man is also a serving policeman and their father served in the force too.He has served with the Murcia policeforce for 20 years and had just returned from his annual holiday in La Manga with his wife and two little boys.

The funeral was attended by councillors and also the Chief of the Policia Local.

The political party Nueva Javea is pinning its hopes of increased tourism,to the mast.They feel that to attract more visitors to the town they need to develop its “nautical”appeal and its links to the sea.

There most definitely needs to be a move away from construction,which has fallen off the map.More tourists need to be attracted to Javea.

There are ambitious plans  to develop two new marinas and reorganise the port.There was a controversial scheme recently to totally enlarge the port,this started a massive move against such a project.

They need to lose at least 60% of their dependency on the building industry.Nueva Javea has plans to develop Fontana Canal which is already used for mooring smaller boats.The Arenal bridge prevents larger boats using it.Morwe commercial sites could be developed around it ,a bit like Puerta Banus in Andalucia.

The saladar area is another that they are considering for development.It was earmarked for housing but that has been scrapped and it is now a protected area.They also think that Javea port could be made to be a much more attractive area for visitors.

Nueva Javea is very honest about the fact that Javea already has too many houses and a new direction must be taken for the economy of the town.

The Spanish high street shops Zara and Desigual have been asked by many clients to open an online shop.Many people live some distance from the nearest store and this would be the perfect answer to their problem.

Zara has just opened the new online store and it is guaranteed to be very popular and profitable.Zara is a very popular brand and is part of the Galicia based Inditex chain.They also have Massimo Dutti,Pull and Bear,Bershka and Oysho.

They will now begin competing against such brands as Armand Basi and Custo Barcelona at the high end and streetwear firm Desigual and Mango at the other.

Zara and Desigual will launch at the same time next month.Mango did all of this ten years ago when internet selling was not such a popular thing to do.However they report excellent results.
